Although it was nearly dark, the beige marble of the Planetarium gleamed in the distance. Jill drew in a deep breath as the car decelerated smoothly to a halt. The building was located on a thin strip of land that jutted out into the middle of the lake. They would be surrounded on three sides by water. Unless there were some unpleasant surprises waiting for them (and there damn sure would be one or two) their little band of comrades would be relatively safe inside.
More or less gracefully, Jill slid out of the vehicle, wincing as her bad knee locked up beneath her. She did a few lunges in place, willing her body to cooperate long enough for them to be able to bunk in for the night.
“We gotta hide the car,” she said to Setsuna. “I think we go on foot from here.”

((Why did you create a new thread for this?))
Gray stepped out of the vehicle slowly and stretched with his arms above his head, popping his neck and back a few times before reaching in and grabbing his bat. He surveyed the Planetarium and in his opinion it looked like an OK place. He still had his heart set on going to the Sears Tower, knowing that any survivors with half a brain would show up there. All Gray was interested in at this point was finding more friends so that he could reasonably ignore the two Japanese fellows.
He looked over to Jill as he fixed his hair, "This looks all right, I guess... not very glamorous though." He shot her a smirk and crossed his arms over his chest, the gleaming orange metal bat still dangling from his right hand.

The car sputtered and died, Kirios pulled out the keys, reached behind him grabbed his gun and clambered awkwardly out of the Mitsubishi. He looked between his comrades, well they were sorta comrades. "I low enough on gas that no one could take the car anyway. We'll have to trek to get some petrol before I can drive again." He walked over to the trunk, popping it open and emptying a duffle bag. He filled it again, this time will two large grey and black boxes and a few pistol clips. Grabbing one of the submachine-guns he checked its clip. "Ok, I don't know what might be in there, but there is 30 rounds in this gun; and," He tossed his last clip to Jill, "30 rounds in yours." He hoped that she had kept the MP-9 and not left it back at the parking garage. Personally, he would have liked to stay with his car, maybe give them cover with his rifle, but no such luck. He didn't want to be left alone with no way for driving off to safety.
He looked between Jill and her son. "Jill, you mind if your kid has a gun?" He figured that if he had the MP-9 in hand, his pistol would better suit someone else. The teen, Grey, had his baseball bat. Anyway, he was sure that Grey had been given a pistol earlier by the mafioso, the American with the Japanese name. Jill still had his other MP-9, and the mob boss had his tommy gun. How cliché. He smiled, at least they were all well armed and mostly sane. Maybe just maybe, they had a chance of surviving.
He faced the observatory his brows arching as a voice drifted from its confines. Several seconds later a loud echo of a gun blast rushed out. Followed by another, a pause, more shouting and two more blasts. "Tight shit, sounds like someone is in there!"
(Just a character I want to NPC, he'll die before we find him if thats okay.)

Donovan quickly took inventory of his stuff. He had his backpack, he had his Deathbringer (the name bestowed upon his trustworthy switchblade), he had Jill's Beretta still tucked into his waistband, he had a pack of matches, a ball of twine, and a fancy watch pickpocketed off of a dead body. He had a torn picture of his dad in his shoe, where he wouldn't ever lose it. Jill was still holding onto his map. His only other posession, the pack of Extra he had pocketed for himself, was all gone. Aw, damn. He wadded up the foil and flicked it at Setsuna.
“Suna, I'll let it slide cuz you don't know me that well but you need to understand that I can shoot better than any man...” Here he shot a glance at Jill, “...Or woman here. For your own safety, you better let me hold onto that.”
When the gunfire sounded inside the Planetarium he took off running toward the action. Guns meant people, and people meant allies against the zombies.
Jill gave the rest of the group a helpless shrug and grinned. “Don't look at me, I can't do shit with him.” Knee sufficiently stretched, she loped up this hill after the little boy.

Leaping from the vehicle, Tanjuu quickly drew his Magnum and swiftly cocked it, just in case. The cigar between his teeth continued to burn brightly, creating a very minimal range light source. He stood back near the car door and watched as Jill did her knee stretches and Donovan bartered for a weapon.
Heh, shoot better than any man or woman. I swear, with the attitude he shows, I might have almost believed him.
Quite suddenly a series of shouts and gunshots played out within the Planetarium, eliciting Donovan to dash forward towards the source of the noise.
"Oh crap. Not this shit again." Tanjuu recounted memories of a particularly bad escort he had at one stage, always running towards danger and generally acting like a douche in return for being saved repeatedly.
His respect for young Donovan slightly jolted, Tanjuu proceeded to run up the hill in the boy's direction, basically because it was what the woman was doing and well, it'd seem like he cared.

In truth, Gray no longer had the gun. He hated guns. Guns were too easy to fuck up with. He watched as the boy ran up the hill, followed by his mother, followed by the skeleton man. Gray remained where he was and watched them.
The people within the building would have to fend for themselves. His friends were rushing to the rescue but he doubted that they would get there in time. Gray wanted to help them, but didn't want to risk his own life doing it. All in all, he was conflicted. He stayed where he was and cocked his hip to the side, watching the others go.
His mind wandered back to when he and Justin stood outside of a QT as their friends held up the place for something stupid-- maybe free beer. Gray didn't go in then. It was a good choice, his friends were hauled off to jail. He knew the current situation wasn't the same, but made the same decision, regardless.

Because she had the advantage of longer legs, Jill caught up with Donovan right as he reached the marble stairs leading up to the building.
“Donovan Adrian Rodrigues, I swear to God if you ever take of running like that again I will kill you myself and leave your body for the cannibals,” she hissed, grabbing him by the front of his shirt and punctuating each word with a shake. “You don't ever, ever, enter a place without scoping it out first. EVER.”
She turned to Tanjuu. The tall lanky man was right behind her. “What do you think we should do?”

Arriving at the stairs to the front entrance, he could just barely make out the form of Jill giving a stern lecture to her son. An amusing and rewarding sight on it's own, but coupled with the fact that this is during this of all times, it almost caused Tanjuu to burst out laughing.
But all seriousness came back when Jill asked him what he thought they should do. "Personally Ms Gillian, I think we should head around the back entrance. Either the survivors will have barricaded the front, or the infected will have beaten us in through there. At least those creatures won't notice us sneaking in through the other way."

Setsuna swore to himself as the boy took off running. He made sure the strap securing his rifle was tight before jogging off after the others. Grey seemed to want to stay behind, but that was his choice. Catching up with the mom, son, and gangster he was able to catch the last bit of Tanjuu's statement. "I agree. That was gunfire we heard from inside, that means infected, or crazies." He held the pistol out to the Donovan, "This thing's a bit newer than your mom's piece, bigger clip. Don't go shooting yourself now." He looked up and down the front of the building. "Noes goes on taking point."
Setsuna Kirios was not a coward, not in the least. He just, well, like being alive. Pain was not his thing, he never had been a big fan of it. Not to mention the fact that he still didn't like being able to run if things hit the fan.
The action on his gun clacked loudly as he pushed the bold home. "I.. I guess, I should go first." He breathed in deeply, trying to quell his fear. "After all." He hoisted the submachine gun.

From the stairs, Jill couldn't see the back entrance. However, there was a nice long line of shrubbery surrounding the building that would offer them a decent cover. And Tanjuu was right, whoever was inside wouldn't expect uninvited guests to pop in from the waterfront.
She glanced back at the car. Gray was just a shadowy figure standing in the darkness, but she could still make out his hands on his hips and his defiant posture. Well screw you too sir. She knew his type all too well. Leave others to do all the hard work, then reap all the benefits. Bet your ass once we've got it cleared out that's when he'll want to come in and chew the fat with the rest of us.
It was true, there was something dangerous inside, but there were even more dangerous things waiting for them out in the night. They really didn't have a choice. And Jill really didn't have any use for cowards. There was no room for that in these dangerous times.
“D, stay close,” she murmured. “Pick off any loners. 'Suna, I got your back. Now do we bust in or sneak in?”

"I say sneak in. Find a little place that is east to see anyone approaching, then make a shit ton of noise. Let anyone here come to us." Setsuna remained where he was, he wanted a plan. Kicking down the door and going in rambo style was not always a good idea. "I haven't heard anymore gunfire, donno if thats good or bad, but at least..." he trailed off, not sure how he could make that statement positive. "So, how does making them come to us sound?"
Kirios looked back to the car, Grey had seemed to have made his choice. His loss. It kinda peeved him though, he had driven all of them here and now that stupid kid wanted to just hang with the car. He looked back to the others.
"I say we get somewhere high up if we can. Particularly somewhere we can only et by climbing. That would make our chances so much better."

“There,” Donovan pointed, “And there, then there.” He indicated a rickety metal stairwell, which led to a fire escape, which in turn led to a drainpipe which went all the way up to the roof. “We go up there and kick down the pipe so nothing can follow us up. We make a holy ruckus to lure them outside. Then we can get inside through the skylight when we're done blowing those sons of bitches to hell.” He cracked his knuckles ominously and started to run off again, but was stopped by the glares from the rest of the group.
“Look, do you guys want a safe shelter or not? Two of us can hang on the roof and shoot anything that comes outside, the other two can go inside and barricade the place so they can't get back in.”
Donny was a man of action. This sitting around waiting for people to tell him what to do was bullshit. He stood there, shifting his weight from one foot to the other while the others made their decisions.

Setsuna cracked a smile. Jill's kid had balls, that was for sure. Odd thing to say about a kid, but these were odd times indeed. He traced teh suggested path with his eyes. "Actually thats not a half bad idea." He reached over his shoulder, touching the barrel to his rifle. "From up top I can stop a cannibal straight in its tracks." He looked about, "Now its not my job to say who goes where, but I think that it should be dictated by who has what for armaments."
He was scared, really scared, but he couldn't let it show. If anyone in their group wasn't scared, he didn't want them here. Fear was a natural emotion. If you were not scared of being eaten alive by zombies then you were crazy.
Kirios looked to Jill, it was her son's plan after all, it should be her call.
(( I apologize for the spelling mistakes in my last post. I wrote it before school, and well, I think I forgot to wake up. It also seems that y spell check didn't catch any of them. >.< *curses spelling demons* ))

Donovan did have a good plan, made sense in theory. But that left the question as to who would be required to stay down below while the others made for the spotlight.
Tanjuu was a limber man, someone who would be able to clamber up to the roof. But that would leave either Donovan or Jill down here to face whatever would appear from the exit. He also had his Thompson still in his jacket, a good weapon that would be of use down here.
"Alright. If hat's the case, looks like I'm staying down here." Tanjuu began to walk over to the entrance, replacing the Magnum with the Thompson as he did. He knew that Gray would be as useful as a parasol in a hurricane, so that left either Jill, Donovan or Burnt as an ally.
He then tried to spend a good minute staring through the gap in the front door, only finding darkness and darting shapes on the other side. Settling down against a pillar, he would wait for the two others to make their way to the skylight.

Gray watched the others noticing how the two men kept "looking" at him. He didn't like it. He didn't know what exactly was going on in their heads but knew that it wasn't anything good. He was still thinking about weather or not to go with them. He decided he should at least go up there and see what they were doing. He didn't want to get into deep shit but wanted to at least know where they were if they got into deep shit. He jogged up the hill and stood next to Jill, looking down to her, "What's up?"
