Gray nodded to Jill and carefully sat before pulling off his shirt. He had swallowed the pills with a little trouble and they had left a terrible taste in his mouth. He smacked lazily, grimacing as he held the black tank top toward her. He looked good. He was tone, but still thin, especially around his waist. He almost had hips. With the exception of the road rash that almost completely covered his right side, he was beautiful in a since. If it weren't for his attitude and tough guy demeanor some people would think that, judging by his body, he was one of those prim and proper gay men.
He was getting dizzy again but the pills were helping to numb the pain in the back of his skull, despite the pressure Jill was putting on it. He was having a hard time supporting himself and leaned against Luke's leg. Luke didn't seem to mind, in fact, he adjusted his position so that the boy could do this more comfortably.

It seemed that all it took to stop people from fighting was one person getting banged up. Useful, in a 'take one for the team' sort of way. Marie still felt sorry for Gray, she had been a bit hostile to him, and for a lousy reason too. She joined the group beside him, resting a hand on a uninjured part of his shoulder. Looking back to the rest of the group she bit at one nail. "Anyone have some plain sugar? You know, like the little packets?"
Marie looked back at Gray, who was now leaning against the Swede. Dabbing a small, miraculously clean, handkerchief into her water bottle, the young teen girl dabbed about Gray's mouth and eyes, trying to clear the dried, and somewhat undried blood from his face. "Hey, Gray," Her voice was soft, "Sorry for being a jerk. I... I just didn't want to be listed off as useless." She looked down momentarily before soaking the now messy rag and draping across his forehead. A cool rag over the brows always felt nice.

Gray smiled at Marie, his felt better now that his face was clean, less sticky and it was a little easier to move, "Can I have a sip of that water?" His pointing finger wavered for a moment and then fell to his knee. He scoffed and knocked his head against Luke's leg gently in frustration, "God, look how useless." His smile showed he was anything but serious. It also showed that he was lucky, all of his teeth were in place. he winced and blood ran from his slowly purpleing nose. He raised his hand again and traced it carefully, "Ugh, it's broken."

Marie nodded, first wiping the blood away from his nose. "Here." She held the bottle to his lips, allowing a slow trickle to flow into his mouth. Meanwhile, she pursed her lips. His nose was definitely broken. Something she had seen a lot in her Dojo. "I can fix your nose, but it will hurt a lot. At least it will set right though. And besides, it will hurt less after it is set." Rambling. She looked out at the skyline. It was rapidly getting dark, and unless they wanted to spend the night on the roof. Which was fine with her. Then they would have to get moving, and fast.

Jill tried not to look at Gray's shirtless body any more than she had to, lest she be caught checking him out. He's too skinny for you, she admonished herself. And too young. And I don't think he swings your way anyway. She had an excuse, though; it had been a long time since she'd seen a man with his clothes off like that. Part of her wished that it were the blond taking his shirt off instead. Now that would be a treat.
Now that Gray was being administered to by Marie and Luke, Jill felt that her services were no longer needed. She issued a directive at Marie. “You might wash out his side with that water bottle of yours if you get a chance.” To the rest of the group she proclaimed, “We've been lollygagging long enough. We need to get inside before we get any more unwanted visitors.”
In case they misunderstood her, Jill poked her tongue out at Marie and Luke. “I mean that in the nicest possible way, of course.”

Setsuna laughed lightly at Jill's joke. "We still need a plan." He looked to Marie, "Once you use up that water, I can make a silencer for one of teh pistols or MP-9s. Or," He motioned to the short girl's sword, "You can use that, and we can get clubs and such."
He didn't want to give orders, suggestions were always much safer anyway. "Hey Luke, what supplies do you have? You don't happen to have any extra socks that you don't want anymore."

Marie shot a glance at his side. Ooh, it was nasty. "Ouch." She was sused to seeing men with their shirts off, being that a majority of her Dojo had trained taht way, Gray was ok, she guessed, but he wasn't amazing. Cute maybe. She pursed her lips, "I could try to clean the side, but I will need more water, it would probably be better to let teh scabs heal over for now, let Gray pop some penicilin and call it good till we have a clean renewable water source."
She looked about, Melee weapons consited of a baseball bat, her sword, The boy's switchblade... and that semed to be about it. "Hey, um... Donny?" That was the boys name right? "You still have your nife right?" She looked down at a small oak tree. "If we can tie it to a branch it would make a niffty spear." Marie frowned than, thousands of possiblities pouring theough her anilitical mind. "How are we going to draw them out, without calling all of them who are out here," SHe waved to teh city, "To us at the same time?"
As odd as it seemed, her mind travled back to her 12th grade mythology class. Back to when she had to read Dune. Dune, worms, worms attracted to vibrations, vibrations, noise, call the zombies to a different building with some sort of continus noise!
Hell, it might just work. "Hey, I have an Idea!" She sat back on her haunches, still dabbing at the worst of Gray's wounds. "If we make enough of a clatter at another building, most of teh zombies will head there. If it lasts long enough, we should have tiome to clear and fortify this place." It was a weak plan, with little to no detail or real planning, but its concept was sound.

Donovan remembered his conversation with Luke and drew in a deep breath. He would keep his promises, but he couldn't guarantee that anyone would pay him any attention. His chest pains were easing. Thank God. And nobody had noticed his episode.
If he and Luke actually got people to listen, then that in itself would unify the group.
“Marie's plan might work if it's only a small vibration,” the boy said reasonably, “But if we're too loud we're going to draw zombies from far away and just make the problem worse.”
“What if we send someone in as bait, someone little.” Like me. “They can make just enough noise to draw the zombies. The door is small enough that the zombies will have to go through one by one and we can get 'em with a silencer so that we don't draw a big crowd.”
Donny whipped off his sneaker and sock and made a face as the resulting aroma. Well what do you expect? I'm a zombie-fighting soldier who hasn't had a bath in six weeks. He handed it to Setsuna. “Does a sock really work like that?”

Luke knelt and removed a small drawstring bag from his back. He pulled out a few sodas, a knife, some yarn, two bottles of water and a miniature pistol. He didn't know what it was, but he did know that he had seen them on TV. He also knew that his fired. He knew how to load it and what ammo it used. That was enough for him.
"This is all I have. As for socks, there is a Wal-Mart not far from here if you really care, but I really don't think we should rely on guns this time around. Lets send a small party in, I don't want anyone being alone, and have them run around making noise. Try not to get lost-- another reason to send more than one."
Gray, still being tended to by Marie looked up at the group, "Treat it like a mass pull in WoW-- or any other MMORPG."
Luke chuckled at the boy, "Yes. Don't try to fight the zombies, just get them to follow you. Lead them to the door and they will trickle out one by one, then we can take them out with melee weapons. The sword, the bat, that crowbar-- which is now mine because I saw it first." His cheeks reddened and he walked over to it casually and picked it up. He cleared his throat and looked to Gray, "Can someone use your bat, Gray?"
The boy nodded and held it toward Setsuna. He glared at the man and pointed at him with warning, "Loose it, break it, or get it stolen and I will kill you."
"Right." Luke laughed with little confidence and looked around, "So who does NOT have a weapon outside of a gun at this point?"

Setsuna nodded, giving the kid a small smile and taking the sock, it was a bit small. He handed it back, and took one of his own. "Yeah, it does. If you shove it in a water-bottle." He dug in his duffle bag, pulling out a smallish 16oz. empty water-bottle. Stuffing his own smelly sock into it and shoving it onto the barrel of one of the MP-9s. "Without any tape it will fall off every few shots, but..." He shouldered the submachine gun and fired off a single shot without warning.
tich
The sound was not even that of a soft clap. He fired twice more.
tich tich
"See? Hell of a lot quieter." He pulled the bottle off the gun, holding it out to Donovan, "Sure my sock is full of holes, but we can take down zombies with almost no noise." He looked at the offered bat and took it, "No worries Gray, it'll be safe. But..." He turned to Luke, "Sure this isn't easier?"

Luke rolled his eyes, "Never one for compromises are you, mister... I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name. If you MUST use your gun go right ahead." He took the bat from him in the same way a mother would snatch something poisonous from their child's hand.
Luke held the bat before him and studied it. In his mind it was an excellent weapon. Sturdy, light-weight. He swung it-- steady too. He shrugged with approval and held the bat toward the other Japanese man, the one who looked like he belonged in the 40's, "Here."
He looked around once more to reevaluate the group, "Marie, the two Japs, and I will stay outside and wait for Jill and Donovan to pull the zombies out. Gray would go too, but he seems out, right Gray?"
Gray nodded from where he was, "Yeah. I can't do shit right now." He sat up slowly and looked around the group, "In the matter of my nose, does anyone here have professional medical training I mean..." His eyes fell to Marie, "Not that I don't trust you, but if anyone is actually trained in the art of nose-mending I'd rather them do it" He offered a half-hearted smile.

Jill had taken Gray's tank top and was busy shredding it into strips. “Yeah,” she replied absently. “I got my RN in night school after D was born. Four years at Stanton Memorial. Not exactly a trauma specialist though.”
Despite Marie's earlier protest, Jill took the water bottle and shook it liberally over Gray's side. After the gravel was mostly washed out, she dabbed on some antiseptic and bound the wounds with a couple long black strips.
She handed Gray a piece of cloth to hold to his nose. “You want me to set that for you? It'll hurt like a motherfucker but you'll be able to breathe easier when it starts to heal.”
Finally, Luke's words sank in. “So D and I are the ones going down there?” Jill asked incredulously. Send a woman and a child to go a man's job, why don't you. She hated depending on the others' aim to kill the zombies that she drew out. But, for the sake of avoiding an argument, she said, “I'll do it. But D stays here; we only need to send one.”

Tanjuu took the bat from the man identified as Luke, looking down at it with curiousity evident. This was the item Gray had flipped out over, an aluminium bat. Why he did so and why it was so important escaped him.
So no silencers eh? Guess'll make do without.
He then handed back the bat, no need for a melee weapon where he was positioned.

Gray reached up in vain to stop Jill from shredding his shirt. He loved that shirt-- it was his brothers. He tried to think of something to say but the only thing that came out was, "What the fuck am I supposed to wear now?" Gray was uncomfortable with all this poking and prodding and he was still frustrated with the peopled around him. Burn my house, my supplies and take the shirt off my back why don't ya? He tried to remain still but couldn't help some bodily protest at the pain of the water and antiseptic. His glare settled on her face and he sat up, "Yeah I want you to set my nose, but after that never touch me again!"
Luke thrust the bat back into Tanjuu's hands, "If Jill wants to go it alone, you will stay out here and help us fight. Why are you giving this back to me?"

"Why? Because I cannot use another man's weapon while he still sits in front of me. Simple as that."
Tanjuu positioned the bat under his arm as he quickly pulled a pair of gloves from his breast pocket. Putting them on, one could note the row of short, solid, metal spikes potruding from the knuckles. The effect of which, would be much like punching your enemies with bullets.
"So now; if a few of our unseen foes make it up to our position, someone else can join in on this fight."
