Jak continued to think, before he drew his machete and, after cleaning it on the shirt of a nearby body, laid it next to Gray.
'For you. Just think of it as my parting gift. It'll be better than that baseball bat you have.'
He stands and walks back slowly to Milena and Paws. He scoops up the little dog in his arms and strokes him gently.
'I'll be heading further into the Planetarium to find us a safe place to roost for the night. You guys just sit tight, yeah? When I find a place, I'll come back to tell ya'll. If I don't make it,' he chuckles darkly. 'At least make sure you get all my stuff from my body. I don't want my hard to go to waste.'
Saying this, he begins his trek further into the Planetarium, Paws already placed next to Milena. He whistles the River Kwai March tune and, with baseball bat in hand, disappears into the darker depths of the complex.

"I don't want his stupid machete... You can have it. I know a baseball bat is a shitty weapon, but it's better than a gay sword." Gray smiled and, without thinking, kissed Donny's forehead.

Donny made a face, but let himself be kissed without squirming too much. “Dude,” he said, but he didn't know how to finish the sentence without sounding like an ass. Then he realized that this was what families did... they hugged each other and leaned on each other and even pecked each other on the forehead if that's how they felt at the moment. Jill wasn't exactly the most affectionate mommy in the world. She was too busy fighting battles and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. Which was good, but Gray's way was alright too.
So Donny took the sword and the sandwich, and took three ferocious bites out of the latter. Cheeks bulging like a chipmunk, he ripped the remnants in half and held out part to Gray and part to the teenage girl who was still looking sort of shell-shocked.
**
Milena, on the other hand, was anything but shell-shocked. She didn't want to break into the rapport that the two boys had established, and she especially didn't think that anyone should go off alone in this situation. So the girl darted after Jak with Paws bounding behind her.

Continuing to whistle the marching tune, the tune soldiers used to whistle when they were marching down the River Kwai, he made his way further into the Planetarium. A personal death wish. If he died, the others wouldn't miss him. If he managed to live and find a good spot to camp, they wouldn't acknowledge it anyways. So he might as well do them a favour before he leaves to find other survivors.
He continues his journey farther into the complex, almost absent-mindedly disposing of Infected that come his way. A baseball bat to the neck here, a broken back there, even going so far as to rip the head off of a persistent one. He does not notice that Milena and Paws are hot on his heels, so it doesn't come as a surprise that he would mistake her for an Infected. As she approaches him, he spins and swings his bat in a mean roundhouse swing, just as he recognises her and quickly diverts the direction of the swing so that it flies harmlessly over her head. He quickly lets go of the bat, not minding where it fell, and quickly goes to Milena and grips her by the shoulders.
'What the hell!? I could've killed you there and then, why'd you follow me?' Then he noticed something rubbing against his leg. The golden retriever, Paws, was nuzzling his leg, as if it didn't want him to leave.

Gray smiled sadly, absently and took the sandwich from him carefully, taking a bite before handing it back, "I'm really not hungry, kid..."
Rushed foot steps and then the two boys were lost in the shadow of a figure, clutching his hat to his head with his scarf trailing out behind him, "Jill is gone!"
Gray looked up, wide-eyed, releasing Donny from his tight grip and letting his hands fall to the floor, "What?"

At the same time, the elder Russian gentleman (Whom had revealed himself as Sergei Petrov.) was finishing his explanation on how he ended up in the situation Tanjuu had found him in.
"And that's when you mistook me for a sofa, I threw you off and stole your Coke."
"Right..."
Suddenly; a suprised voice piped up from around the corner, belonging to Gray (no suprise of that). Now alert and with hand on the Magnum, Tanjuu ran out to find Mr Luke, teen Gray and young Donovan, each with an expression of shock. Behind Tanjuu, Sergei lumbered around the corner and stood behind the ex-mobster.
"S'plain what happened using as few words as possible."

“Um, because you could've gotten killed being on your own,” Milena shot back, “I was able to get within five feet of you before you noticed! You should thank me. It's not safe for people to go off alone.” She folded her arms, hoping she looked ferocious instead of comical. It was hard for her to pull off the former. Paws seemed to agree with her, so she was determined to stand her ground.
**
“Mom took off,” Donny said flatly. He wasn't too worried initially. Jill could take care of herself. But the others were sort of freaking out, and their anxiety was more than a little contagious. He didn't think there was trouble, but was willing to concede that if they thought there was trouble then they might be right. Donovan bit at his thumbnail and looked towards the others for guidance.
**
Jill woke with a start, unsure how much time had gone by. With each passing moment, her strength was coming back. She started to slide down the tree, but was stopped by a noise.
A rumble rose in the distance. It was approaching fast, too. Jill scampered up higher in her tree, breathing a little harder and pressing her face against the bark. She willed her heart to stop beating so fast. It was a stampede.
The rumbling crescendoed abruptly, and about a hundred zombies ran by underneath Jill's feet. She trembled. Over the din, she could just barely make out the howling of a Lord...

(A machete is a long knife, not a sword.)
Jak sighed and let go of Milena. She was right, anyway. He picked up Paws and cradled him in his arms, letting the little pup lick his face. As he does so, he feels a rumbling in the ground. Extremely faint at first, like as if his legs were shaking, then it steadily got more intense, leading him to believe something big was headed their way.
He made his way to a window where he believed the rumbling was coming from, and after wiping away dried blood from the window, peered out into the world outside. Then he saw it : a large black mass heading their way. A horde. Not good.
'Holy shit.'
He grabs Milena and, already carrying Paws, runs back to the group of survivors.
'Guys, we have a problem. Its a horde and its coming fast!'

((Yes, I know that... if you haven't noticed, Gray is an asshole. Also... I was trying to wrap this up and sort of don't appreciate people violating the rules and calling hordes of their own accord.))
Gray looked up and stood slowly, bat in hand, "So? Just stay inside, stay hidden and stay silent. Lock the doors... they're fucking zombies, not the SWAT team." He sighed and looked back up to them all, "Luke, find Jill fast and get in here. We'll head for the dome and lock it up."
Luke nodded to the boy and headed back to where he has last seen Jill, calling her name as he ran, searching for her.

((That's perfectly acceptable. :] Sorry I was sort of being an asshole yesterday, I am under a lot of stress and am really depressed, I'm really worried about myself and think I need to go get some professional help soon.))

[[hugs the shiro!]]
Jill held tight to the tree and muttered a brief prayer under her breath at the stampede thundered by underneath. Then, as if in answer to her prayer, the roars and growls began to abate. Jill opened her eyes and stared, flabbergasted, as they slowed to a stop and collected by the lake, staring across the water.
Just then Jill heard an inhuman shriek off in the distance over the grunts and grumbles of the infected. She realized that the call of a Lord was stronger than the lure of fresh meat. A good thing to file away for future reference... She shimmied down while the horde was distracted over on the lakefront and crept away silently. The Infected were a good half-mile from her hiding place and further still from the Planetarium, but better to take no chances.

Luke pushed open the doors of the Planetarium and hurried out, all the while screaming Jill's name, looking around for her ferociously. He spotted her and rushed toward her, still holding his hat to his head.
"There you are!"

[So, in the end, the survivors hide from the horde, Luke finds Jill, Jak has yet to apologise to Gray in earnest, and the other events, right?]
