Jill's first instinct was to be sarcastic and say, “We're eloping, can't you tell?” Her second instinct was to say, “Nunya,” and clam right up. As it turns out, she did neither of these things. There was something stern yet earnest about the tall man that made it difficult to lie to him. “We're making a raid,” she said finally. She was hesitant to go into specifics, because if she told Tanjuu all the details, then he would most likely come up with a bajillion reasons why it was a stupid wild goose chase, and she did not want anything to throw doubt onto the mission.

Gray had an idea. Maybe a stupid one, but it would entertain him. If he still had his shirt he would have taken it off. Instead he walked out of the door, zipping up his pants and buttoning them. He looked to Tanjuu and blushed before raising a hand to cover his face, "Dammit man, you caught us red handed."
He laughed and held a finger to his lips, "Don't tell no one, ok, Stretch?"

For a brief second, a look of disbelief showed up on Tanjuu's face. Then a realisation that he was being played became evident before settling into a humored smirk.
"Alright then Gray, whatever you say."
He then turned to Jill and responded to her word.
"But seriously, a raid? I assume I'm not getting the whole story on this deal. So if I were to join you on this venture, would I be allowed to claim a third of the alcoholic hoard?"

Gray cocked a brow at the man briefly before putting his fists on his hips and looking at him, "No way, man. This is for Jill and me. I mean, you could help-- but I'd rather you stay here and distract the others... and what the fuck do you mean 'alcoholic hoard'?"
Gray really didn't want anyone to find out and was a little peeved that Jill let their plan slip, but kept his cool and stayed quiet. The two of them were going to go alone even if it meant locking Tanjuu in a closet. Gray smirked at this and then looked back up to the lanky Japanese man.
((Did you know Tanjuu is a religious Arabic name?))

Jill eyed Tanjuu warily. “You think that I'm gonna trust those dumbasses in there to watch D while I'm out? Seriously? You have to stay here, man.” Then she gave him a sultry stare, which was kind of difficult considering she was still covered in bruises and her hair hadn't been washed in a while. “If you want, I'll bring you back a bottle of something good we can share...”
Jill had her fingers crossed behind her back that Tanjuu would let it go at that. If it came down to it, Tanjuu and perhaps Luke were the ones she trusted most to protect the group in her absence.

((Seriously? Tanjuu's an Arabic religious name? I just chose Tanjuu Shageki because it roughly translates to 'Revolver Marksman' in Japanese. But still, that is pretty neat.))
"Naw crap. Babysitting... B-E-A-U-tiful. But aren't kids these days meant to be all self raising and whatnot? Set them up with a TV, a console or somethin' and leave them to it right? I mean, I'm certain there'd be at least one instance of a kid's PSP getting tossed into a Lost n' Found drawer..."
Glancing between them, he knew that this was a losing argument.
"Alright, but there'd better be a bottle of scotch at the end of all this. And an alcoholic hoard is a metaphor for a treasure of beer and whatnot."

Gray laughed. A real laugh. A full hearted bent over clutching his stomach laugh. He stood and wiped his eye with his index finger before looked up to Tanjuu, smiling, eyes shining, "Haha, that was awesome. Long time since I've laughed like that. Thanks!" He clapped the man on the shoulder and looked into his eyes, "Maybe you're ok."
"But yeah, please stay here and take care of Don and them."

"Will do. Someone has to make sure nobody gets stabbed, or shot, or gets their hand caught in the staff room microwave, or trips on a knife..."
Tanjuu continued to list many more potential accidents as he began to head for the door. He was still doing so as he shut the door behind him and dashed off to find the others.

Gray chuckled and turned to Jill, "Think we're in good hands?"
He knew he could trust Tanjuu. He had grown to like him. He had grown to like everyone and felt secure in their care, after all, they had nursed him back to life. He didn't know why they had wasted that much effort, but he was thankful for it.

Jill heaved a sigh of relief. “From here on out, it's all gravy.” She leered at Gray, and then continued. “Now we need to talk transportation. No way in hell do I want to walk that far. Not in these shoes.” She looked over at the parking lot, which was eerily dark and quiet. “I've seen enough TV to maybe hotwire a car, what do you think?”

Gray laughed, "You can try to hotwire one if you want, but I honestly think we'll have more luck walking."
He didn't know either. He didn't want to try and end up getting electrocuted or blown up or something so for now he would let Jill take care of it while he sat back and watched.

Jill chose a little black Audi for two reasons: first, because it looked to be a zippy little car, and second, because the front driver's window was already smashed in, so it would save her the trouble of bloodying her hand or finding a brick. She reached through the window and unlocked the door for herself, and then reached over to let Gray in the passenger side.
“Now just hold on a second, this won't hurt a bit...” Jill mumbled to the car as she opened the ignition, only to be faced with a confusing tangle of wires. “Fuuuuckk...” Look for the red ones, then the brown ones... She couldn't make heads nor tails of the mess.
OK, think...think... Suddenly she realized what to do, and felt a brief sense of shame at not thinking of that first. Jill giggled and felt above the sun visor, and was rewarded by a hard metal object falling into her hand. She stuck the spare key into the ignition. “Fuck yeah! Let's get out of here.”

Gray swung himself into the passenger door and settled in the seat, slamming his bat down between his knees the same way he had done in Setsuna's car. He grinned vividly when she found the key and couldn't help but chuckle a little at their luck. His green eyes flashed at her face briefly before he looked out the window toward the Planetarium, "Do you think this thing has enough gas?"
It was an absent question but he still assumed that it was vaguely relevant. If the car had gas, cool, but maybe it didn't have enough to get them to the Tower and left them stranded in the middle of the city, well, they were fucked. He visioned the two of them stalling somewhere on Lake Shore Dr. and having to walk back. They would get attacked, no doubt, and with nothing big to hide in they would be toast.
Somewhere in Chicago, a man named Jonas would envy them if he knew their story.

Jill revved the engine. The only car she had ever had was a POS old Buick which shook and clattered like it was dying. In comparison, the little Audi ran like a dream. She purposefully ignored the “Buckle Up” light (after all, what if they had to tuck and roll in order to make a quick escape?) and threw the car into Drive. She and Gray were on their way.
Once they were on the road, the going was easy. Jill fiddled with the radio a bit, trying to see if there was anything but static. Of course, that would be a little too much to hope for...
Suddenly Jill looked up. “HOLY SHIT!!!” she screamed and twisted the wheel violently to the right. The car swerved and just barely missed the shadowy figure in the road. Jill stomped hard on the brakes, breathing heavily, and then rested her forehead on the center of the wheel. Whatever it was, it wasn't an Infected...

Gray let out an almost comical scream when they almost hit the person. He covered his face with his hands, letting go of his bat voluntarily for the first time in a week or so. When the car had finally come to a stop he dropped them and looked at her, eyes wide, mouth agape, "You wanna watch the road next time??" It was more of a harsh whisper than a scream.
He took his bat in his hands and shook his head slowly, "So you wanna check him out or should we wait or what?"
