Jill pounded angrily on her son's chest. “Stop it right now, damn you!” she cried.
Suddenly she felt a tiny flicker beneath her fingertips. All hope was not lost. She started doing CPR on the boy, willing his heart to start again... and it did. The beat grew steadily stronger, until finally Donny started breathing again. He rolled over onto his side, curled up, and began to cry.

Eden turned around when she heard movement and when she say that the boy was moving she exhaled shakily and looked to Bud, "He's ok..."

Relieved, Bud muscled Jill out of the way and picked up Donny. “This place gives me the screaming willies. Edie, run get your stuff so we can jet. Jill, why don't you tell me what the hell is wrong with your kid?” He said this last part while covering Donny's ears. Didn't want the kid to get a complex.
Jill responded sadly, “You have to understand, I was only 17 when I had him. He was born six weeks prematurely, and the valves in his heart didn't close up all the way. I couldn't get him corrective surgery until a couple months after the doctors said the operation should be scheduled because I didn't have money or insurance. Those couple months... apparently meant a lot. They didn't think he would live to see his second birthday.” She glared at Bud with an angry glint in her eyes. “Don't you dare say anything's wrong with him. He's fine now. This shit can be controlled most of the time with injections and he's just overexerted himself right now is all. Dammit, I worry about him so much...” She wiped her sleeve across her face. “Let's get the hell out of here, ok? I don't want to stay here any more.”

Eden nodded obediently and ran inside, returning shortly with a small checker-boarded backpack, filled with her most important possessions. She ran past them toward the door, "Come on!"

For such a big man, Bud was surprisingly gentle when he cradled the little boy to his chest. “I think he'll be fine,” he said reassuringly. “Look, he's breathin' just fine and everything.” Then he remarked idly, “Love kids. I never could have any of my own though.” He turned and headed for the exit, with Jill struggling to match his long-legged stride.

Tears of relief were streaming down Jill's face. As she was jogging to keep up, she kept touching Donny as if to reassure herself that he was in fact still alive. She only had a handful more adrenaline pens in her bag and she worried that soon they would run out. “There's a hospital just outside the city,” she suggested. “I want to go there.”
That was when they got to the parking deck. Parking decks gave Jill the screaming willies. Maybe because she had just seen too many slasher movies... Either way, she didn't want to be here any longer than she had to.
Upon seeing Bud's 'wheels' Jill felt a bubble of anxiety rise in her stomach. Not that she had anything against motorcycles (she had been on plenty during her more wild days) but the idea of being out in the open, completely exposed while they rode... Not such a good feeling. “Now what?” she asked, in order to buy a few seconds to calm her nerves.

((I have no idea what to do with Eden here...))
She stood in the doorway while they caught up and then followed after them slowly, watching as Donny's legs swung slightly with every step the big man took.

“Hospital it is, then,” Bud said gamely, swinging one leg over the seat. “Edie, you sit behind me. Jill and Donovan take the sidecar.” He revved the engine. At last, he was back in his comfort zone.

She grinned and ran over to the motorcycle and swung herself up, arms wrapped around Bud's large frame, "So,do I just hold on?"

Bud grinned, turned, and gave the girl an awkward hug. “You got it.” Suddenly he frowned. “We're missing something...” Rifling through the sidecar, he finally pulled out the object he was looking for: a helmet. He plopped it on Eden's head and gave Jill and Donovan a sideways look. “Ready, kiddos?”
“Ready as I'll ever be,” Jill muttered from the sidecar, one hand on Donny's forehead and the other fingering her Beretta.

Eden smiled and gripped Bud as tightly as she could, the large helmet swaying on her head awkwardly. She liked this guy, felt safe around him and didn't want to leave him any time soon.

Jill cradled Donny in her arms. She focused intently on her son as the engine roared to life. Soon they were off, the scenery going by in a whirl of desolate colors: the gray and brown of deserted buildings, the black asphalt under there wheels... the occasion red smear of entrails on the pavement.
Suddenly Donny sat up, sputtering. "Jesus, Mom!" he grumbled, "You're choking the shit outta me." Jill grinned. Bud grinned too, from his vantage point on the Harley.
Just then Bud swerved violently, and they started heading back in the direction they had come. He had seen something off in the distance, something he didn't like..."Sorry, guys," he rasped in fear. "Change of plans."
[[I'm thinking he saw a horde, or maybe another Siren which would scare the shit out of him and definitely make him want to run the other way...]]

Eaden shrieked and gripped the larger man, "Ah! You almost threw me off."

"Yeah, but I also just saved your life, little Miss," Bud explained. He briefly described the figure he had seen on top of one of the buildings: A tall, elegant woman in a flowing red gown and glorious waves of dark hair. He'd felt the magnetic pull of her swan song.
Even at this distance, he had to bite his tongue and tense every muscle in his body to keep from running straight to her. Apparently being enthralled by one Siren made you more susceptible to the voices of others.
"We need a new plan," he said, keeping the motor at a nice even pace.

Eaden clapped her hands over Bud's ears, "Stay away from her!"
